Excellent dwarf variety for sowing in the cooler months of autumn and spring. Smaller seeded, highly nutritious broad bean. Excellent winter green manure or cover crop for game birds like pheasants and winter feed for grazing animals. Fixes nitrogen via the root nodules and provides ample humus from the plant and root biomass when dug in. Chop and dig in prior to flowering.
North Island: You can sow slightly later (April–early May) due to milder winters.
South Island: Aim for March–April to allow enough establishment before cold sets in.
