Phlox Star Mix

Phlox drummondii cuspidata ‘Star Mix’ is a vibrant and reliable annual known for its large clusters of star-shaped flowers in a wide range of colours, including shades of pink, red, white, lavender and purple. This tall variety grows to 40–60 cm in height, making it ideal for both cut flower production and bold, colourful displays in the garden. The flowers bloom from early summer through to autumn, providing months of continuous colour.

In the garden, this phlox variety is perfect for mixed borders, cottage gardens, wildflower plantings, and cut flower beds. Its bushy, upright habit and vivid blooms create a striking effect when planted in groups. The flowers are rich in nectar, attracting bees and butterflies, and their long stems make them excellent for cutting, lasting well in floral arrangements.

Once seedlings are large enough, transplant them into a sunny spot in well-drained soil, spacing plants 20–25 cm apart. Regular deadheading encourages prolonged flowering. Although tolerant of short dry periods, phlox prefers consistent moisture during hot spells.
