Historically used as a tea for medicinal purposes with a spearmint like flavour, it was thought to aid digestion, while traditionally it was recommended for soothing fevers and headaches. There are however significant toxic side effects if consumed in excess. Research well before using and do not take if pregnant as it can induce abortion/miscarriage.
